The Erik has landed

After 20 hours of traveling and traveling through reverse time zones, the end of days as they should be and beginning of new days is all very confusing so we will just say Wednesday was a 31 hour day and leave it at that! We always ask for more hours in a day... here a go!!

At 3:15 Paul and I woke up and stumbled out of bed... Paul on minutes of sleep, me on about 2 hours. We got our stuff together and got dressed. Paul started taking down the luggage and E and J were already up to help. Have I mentioned how awesome they are?

Part 2: The Amazing Send Off

This evening deserves a blog post all it’s own.

This group of misfits from all over, have found themselves in Kyiv at this time for a variety a reasons and time frames.  It was nothing short of God’s miracles that have brought us all to this place at the same time, crossing paths and joining our hearts forever. It took us all a bit of time to find each other in the park. It’s a big park and it was a last minute change of location but we did find each other and that when the amazement began.

Part 1: Have Visa. Will Travel.

All good things must come to an end.

We woke up very early this morning after getting very little sleep. Paul woke up Erik and carried the unhappy boy into our room while he complained of being tired and being woken up. We tried to explain this inconvenience would be worth the early wake up. Our first stop was to pay forErik’s medical appointment. Here in Ukraine, it is very selective who handles money and so it is the most inconvenient thing imaginable. Since our facilitator hadn’t arrived by bus to town yet, we were on our own for this step and we expected it to be no big deal since she told us they speak English.

Today's entry deserves to be long but I just caught up from Sunday and I need to go to bed but today was too important to skip the entry. Therefore it will be short.  I am going to pay for still being up when my alarm goes off in 6 hours (from the time I am starting to write this). So forgive my quickness but I wanted to inform you all of the exciting events.

This morning we woke up early and our wonderful Host E drove to the embassy for our appointment. It was actually easy peasy and they looked over our documents, and had us fill out a few things, asked us some questions and we were on our way in less than an hour.
